Industrial cooling and ventilation in Dubai
Dubai earns its living from movement rather than heavy manufacture, and the buildings that need cooling show it. Jebel Ali Free Zone and the National Industries Park hold row after row of high bay distribution sheds, Al Quoz is packed with joinery units, print houses and vehicle body shops, Dubai Investments Park mixes food plants with aluminium extrusion and pipe coating, and Ras Al Khor carries fish handling, marble cutting and scrap yards. Almost none of these volumes can justify full mechanical chilling. The practical answer is large diameter ceiling fans to move the whole air mass, ducted evaporative cooling over loading aprons and assembly bays, and mobile fans where a crew works one spot for a full shift.
Dubai climate — the honest version
Dubai summers run 42–46 °C with coastal humidity climbing past 70 percent from late July to September, so evaporative cooling gives a strong drop for eight months of the year but weakens badly in that humid window, which is why air movement is planned first.
Containers arrive at Jebel Ali Port, roughly 7 to 10 days sailing from Nhava Sheva or Mundra, with inland delivery anywhere in Dubai the same or next day.

- Automotive workshops and body shops
- Re-export trading and packaging
Worth knowing locally
- Mains supply is 415 V three phase 50 Hz, which matches Ayzair motors as built, so no transformer or rewind is needed.
- Goods consigned to a free zone company clear under zone customs with duty suspended; moving the same goods to the mainland attracts 5 percent duty and 5 percent VAT.
- Buying peaks between February and May. With 10 to 20 working days production plus the sea leg, an order placed in March is installed before the worst of the heat.

Ask on WhatsAppDo evaporative coolers still work in Dubai in August?
Only partly. From late July to September the coast holds 65 to 85 percent humidity, so an evaporative cooler delivers a small temperature drop and should be treated mainly as a ventilation and air movement aid in that window. From October to June the drop is real and useful. Most Dubai plants therefore pair duct coolers with HVLS fans.
Can Ayzair ship into Jebel Ali Free Zone without a UAE trade licence?
Yes. Goods can be consigned to a free zone company or to a licensed clearing agent acting on your behalf. Ayzair ships CIF Jebel Ali with commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and the CE declaration of conformity, which is what both free zone customs and the mainland import channel ask for. Your agent files the bill of entry.
What size HVLS fan suits a typical Al Quoz workshop bay?
A 16 ft fan covers roughly 600 sq m and a 24 ft fan up to 1,200 sq m, so a standard bay of 20 by 40 metres is usually served by one 24 ft unit or two 16 ft units. Clear height should be at least 6 metres for a full sweep, and the fan stays under 40 dB so machine noise still dominates.
