Industrial cooling & ventilation for New Zealand

New Zealand air is humid almost everywhere, which leaves very little wet-bulb depression for an evaporative cooler to work with, so we do not lead with one here. The products that do fit are HVLS fans for air movement and winter destratification in tall sheds, and exhaust fans for the heat, steam and odour loads that dairy, meat and packhouse operations generate.

  • Electrical equipment sold in New Zealand requires a Supplier Declaration of Conformity under the Electricity (Safety) Regulations, held by the importer or responsible supplier, and an RCM mark for both electrical safety and EMC. We provide the CE, IEC, LVD and EMC test reports and technical file the SDoC is built on.
  • 400 V three-phase and 230 V single-phase at 50 Hz, which our standard motors match without modification.
  • Tauranga is the country’s largest port and usually the cheaper entry for Waikato and Bay of Plenty sites, while South Island deliveries are generally better routed through Lyttelton than trucked down from Auckland.

Would evaporative cooling work in a New Zealand packhouse?

Rarely well. Coastal humidity here sits high through the summer, so a wetted pad has little temperature drop available and simply adds moisture to a building where moisture is already a problem. High-volume air movement plus proper extraction gives real comfort and a drier working environment, which is why we specify HVLS and Hammer fans instead.

What compliance is needed before we can sell or install these?

Electrical items need a Supplier Declaration of Conformity under the Electricity (Safety) Regulations, kept by the New Zealand responsible supplier, together with RCM marking covering electrical safety and EMC. That declaration is built from the manufacturer’s evidence, and we supply the full CE, IEC, LVD and EMC test reports and technical file to support it.

Are HVLS fans worth installing in a dairy barn?

Yes. Cows lose production once temperature and humidity combine past their comfort threshold, and gentle continuous air movement over the stall line is the practical remedy in a humid climate. The same fans reverse slowly in winter to pull warm air off the ridge, which also helps keep bedding and the floor surface drier.
