Brazilian industry concentrates in places that are warm and damp for most of the year, from the São Paulo interior and the Paraná logistics corridor to the Manaus Free Zone. Climate suitability — the honest version
Hot and humid across the industrial south-east, north-east coast and Amazon, with a semi-arid interior in the north-eastern sertão
Evaporative cooling is the wrong tool for most of Brazil and we will not quote it where it cannot perform. São Paulo, Campinas, Manaus, Recife and Salvador all carry enough moisture in the air that a wet pad buys you humidity rather than comfort. What works is air movement and heat extraction: HVLS fans over the floor and hammer exhaust fans in the roof. The genuine exception is the semi-arid sertão around Petrolina and Juazeiro, where the air is dry enough for evaporative cooling to earn its place.

- Brazilian mains is 60 Hz at 220 V or 380 V depending on the state and the plant. Our catalogue motors are 50 Hz units, so Brazilian orders are manufactured to order with 60 Hz windings at the declared voltage — running a 50 Hz motor here would overspeed it by about a fifth and overload the winding.
- INMETRO conformity assessment governs electrical goods, and together with import duties and customs formalities it makes Brazil a slower, paperwork-heavy market than most we serve. We would rather tell you that at enquiry stage than surprise you: plan the approval calendar alongside the manufacturing lead time, not after it.
- Poultry and swine houses in Paraná, Santa Catarina and Goiás are a natural fit for the Ayzair-1380 and Ayzair-1750 tunnel exhaust fans, which handle moisture and ammonia loading without relying on dry air.

Honestly, no. The south-east carries high humidity through the hot months, so an evaporative cooler would raise the moisture content of air that is already damp and deliver only a small temperature drop. HVLS fans give a perceived cooling effect through air speed in any humidity, and hammer exhaust fans remove the heat layer sitting under the roof. That combination is what we recommend.
Is there anywhere in Brazil evaporative cooling does work?
Yes — the semi-arid sertão of the north-east. Around Petrolina and Juazeiro the air is genuinely dry through much of the year, so ductable evaporative coolers behave the way they do in the Middle East and give a real temperature drop in packhouses and workshops. Send us local temperature and humidity data and we will confirm before quoting rather than assume.
How difficult is importing into Brazil?
More involved than most markets, and worth planning for. Electrical equipment goes through INMETRO conformity assessment, and import duties plus customs documentation add cost and calendar time on top of the 30–38 day sea transit to Santos. We supply the technical file, test reports and certificates of origin, and we recommend appointing an experienced customs broker before the order is placed.
