Industrial cooling & ventilation for Canada

Heating a Canadian distribution shed is expensive precisely because the heat refuses to stay near the floor. Ayzair supplies HVLS fans for winter destratification across the Ontario warehouse belt, Quebec manufacturing and Alberta logistics, plus hammer exhaust fans and Inline-Jet duct fans for barn, arena and process ventilation year-round.

Climate suitability — the honest version

Long cold winters from −15 °C to −30 °C inland, short warm summers, genuinely dry Prairie heat in July and August

Canada is not a cooling sale for most of the year, and it would be dishonest to pitch it as one. The argument here is destratification: a heated warehouse with a 12 m roof stacks its warmest air where nobody works, and HVLS fans running slowly in reverse-season mode push it back to floor level, commonly cutting heating energy 20–30%. Prairie summers in Calgary, Regina and Winnipeg are dry enough that evaporative cooling does have a real regional niche — but it is a niche, not the headline.

  • Canadian supply runs at 60 Hz, usually 208 V, 347 V or 600 V. Because our catalogue motors are 50 Hz machines, Canadian units are manufactured to order with 60 Hz windings at the voltage you specify — 600 V drives in particular are chosen at the order stage, never adapted afterwards.
  • CSA or cUL certification is required for electrical equipment installed in Canada. Say which province and authority having jurisdiction is involved at enquiry stage and we will confirm the certification route and what it adds to lead time before you commit.
  • Evaporative cooling is quoted only for the dry Prairie summer — Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg. In Ontario, Quebec and coastal British Columbia the summer is too humid and too short to justify it.

Supplying Canada — common questions

Ask on WhatsApp
Why buy ceiling fans for a cold country?

Because the heat you already pay for is sitting 12 m above the people. Warm air stratifies, so roof-level temperature can run 8–12 °C above floor level while thermostats keep calling for more. HVLS fans turning slowly mix that column back down, typically reducing heating energy 20–30% and evening out floor temperature near loading doors, which is where staff actually complain.

What certification do you need for Canada?

Electrical equipment installed in Canada normally needs CSA or cUL certification, and inspectors do check. Our range already holds CE, IEC, LVD and EMC approval, and we arrange the Canadian mark per project through a recognised body. Tell us the province and the authority having jurisdiction early, because that step governs the schedule more than manufacturing does.

Is evaporative cooling worth it anywhere in Canada?

Only on the Prairies. Calgary, Regina and Winnipeg see genuinely dry July and August heat, so a ductable evaporative cooler can deliver a real temperature drop in a fabrication shop or grain facility. Along the St. Lawrence and on the coast the air is too damp and the warm season too brief, so we recommend HVLS fans and exhaust ventilation instead.
