A limited one. The heat events of recent summers pushed inland parts of the Lower Mainland past 35 °C for several days, and buildings with no cooling at all became unworkable. Large ceiling fans give real relief in those conditions and cost nothing when idle. Evaporative cooling, though, would add moisture to already damp air and we do not recommend it here.
Can these fans work in a wood products or millwork shop?
Yes, with two provisos. Airflow must not disturb dust collection at machine level, so fans are placed over circulation and assembly space rather than directly above sanding or sawing stations. Second, extraction should handle the dust rather than relying on dilution. Within those limits the fans make a large unheated shop far more comfortable and even out heat from finishing ovens.
What do you supply for car park and basement ventilation?
