Industrial cooling and ventilation in Cairo
Greater Cairo carries the largest industrial base in Egypt, and nearly all new capacity has moved out to the satellite cities — 10th of Ramadan on the Ismailia road, 6th of October and Abu Rawash to the west, and Obour and Badr to the north east. Between them they hold garment and textile mills, food processing, furniture, ceramics and building materials, plastics, pharmaceuticals and vehicle assembly, while the older dense workshops of Shubra El Kheima still turn out textiles and metal goods. Summers are long, very hot and dry, which is the best possible case for evaporative cooling: a ducted unit can hold a large shed roughly 8 to 12 degrees below outside air using nothing more than water and a fan motor of 1.5 to 3 kW.
Cairo climate — the honest version
Cairo summers run 36–40 °C with humidity often between 20 and 35 percent, which is close to ideal for evaporative cooling and allows a large drop in supply air temperature.
Cargo sails from Nhava Sheva or Mundra to Alexandria or Damietta in 12 to 16 days, then moves roughly 220 km by road to Cairo and the satellite cities in a day.

Worth knowing locally
- Egyptian mains are 380 V three phase at 50 Hz, so motors are wound and tested for that voltage and frequency before dispatch.
- Water in the satellite cities is hard, so pads last much longer with a bleed off timer and a descaling routine, both set up at commissioning.
- Importers must be registered with GOEIC and the supplying factory listed on the general organisation register, so first time buyers should open that file while the order is still in production.

Ask on WhatsAppHow much cooling can a ducted unit deliver in a Cairo summer?
A great deal, because the air is dry. At 38 to 40 °C outside with humidity in the twenties, a ducted evaporative cooler supplies air roughly 8 to 12 degrees below ambient. One 30,000 CMH unit on a 3 kW motor handles a large workshop bay at a small fraction of chiller running cost.
Are the motors supplied for the Egyptian 380 V supply?
Yes. Egypt runs 380 V three phase at 50 Hz and motors are wound and factory tested for that before dispatch, with CE, IEC, LVD and EMC documentation included. If a plant in 10th of Ramadan or 6th of October uses a different control voltage, the starter is configured to match it.
What is the shipping route and total time to Cairo?
Cargo sails from Nhava Sheva or Mundra to Alexandria or Damietta in 12 to 16 days, then moves by road about 220 km to Cairo in a day. With a build time of 10 to 20 working days, most Cairo orders are on site within six weeks of order confirmation.
