Industrial cooling and ventilation in Tashkent
Tashkent carries roughly a fifth of Uzbek industry and almost all of its newer investment. The Tashkent Free Economic Zone and the Sergeli industrial district on the southern edge hold garment and knitwear plants working to European order books, cable and switchgear assembly, domestic appliance lines and a broad food processing trade. Yangiyul to the south west runs flour, oil pressing, canning and wine, while Chirchiq up the valley keeps its chemical and agricultural machinery heritage alongside newer engineering shops. Almost all of it operates in long single storey sheds with sawtooth roofs and shutter doors, built when energy was cheap and insulation was an afterthought. Worth knowing locally
- Mains supply is 380 V three phase 50 Hz with 220 V single phase for lighting circuits, so Ayzair motors are used exactly as manufactured.
- Uzbekistan is not a member of the Eurasian Customs Union, so an EAC mark does not clear goods here. Imports need a certificate of conformity to O‘z DSt standards issued through the Uzbek agency for technical regulation, and the CE declaration plus IEC type test reports supplied with the consignment are the evidence pack that certificate is built on.
- Tashkent water is hard. Specify a bleed off and plan on rinsing pads fortnightly through the season, otherwise mineral scale narrows the pad face and the measured drop falls away by August.

Because the air is dry enough for it to work at full strength and the arithmetic is hard to argue with. A 30,000 CMH duct cooler draws about two kilowatts and treats an entire bay with fresh outside air. Chilled air for the same volume would run into tens of kilowatts, need a sealed building, and recirculate the lint and dust a garment floor generates.
Can the coolers be ducted into an existing sawtooth roof shed?
Yes, and that is the usual installation. The unit sits outside on a plinth or a roof frame drawing fresh air, and galvanised ductwork carries treated air to grilles over the working lines. Because the system supplies rather than recirculates, shutter doors and roof vents can stay open, which also clears process heat. Ayzair supplies duct sizing and airflow layouts with the quotation.
