Industrial cooling and ventilation in Madrid
Madrid consumes and distributes more than it manufactures, and its industrial geography follows the motorways out of the city. The Corredor del Henares, running north east through Coslada, San Fernando, Torrejón de Ardoz, Alcalá de Henares and on to Azuqueca, is the densest logistics corridor in Spain, lined with cross dock platforms, e-commerce fulfilment centres and pharmaceutical distribution warehouses. Getafe and Leganés to the south hold the Airbus plant and its aerospace supply chain alongside engineering and printing works. Illescas and Seseña, over the Toledo border, have absorbed the newest generation of very large distribution boxes. Almost all of it is modern portal frame with ten to twelve metre clear height, and almost none of it is cooled, because chilling a building of that volume for a picking crew was never affordable. Dry meseta air makes ducted evaporative cooling the obvious alternative, with ceiling fans distributing the effect.
Madrid climate — the honest version
Madrid sits 650 metres up on the meseta and its July afternoons reach 38–40 °C with relative humidity between 20 and 30 percent, a hard dry continental heat, which is exactly the condition in which an evaporative cooler removes ten to thirteen degrees for around two kilowatts of power.
Madrid is inland, so containers clear at Valencia or Barcelona 17 to 23 days out of Nhava Sheva · the road leg is 350 km from Valencia or 620 km from Barcelona, both overnight trunk runs to the Henares corridor.

Very well, because the air is dry. At 39 °C and 22 percent humidity a duct cooler can deliver supply air near 25 °C, and a picking aisle under it typically sits nine or ten degrees below ambient. The same unit in coastal Valencia would give half that, which is why inland Madrid is one of the strongest cases in Europe.
What does it cost to run compared with air conditioning?
A 30,000 CMH duct cooler draws roughly 2 kW. Chilled air plant covering the same floor area in a twelve metre high warehouse would be measured in tens of kilowatts, and most of that energy is spent cooling a volume nobody occupies. Water use of 30 to 60 litres an hour is the trade off, which Madrid buyers generally accept readily.
Does the shipment come through Valencia or Barcelona?
Either, depending on the service. Valencia is the shorter road leg at 350 km and usually the default for Madrid consignees, while Barcelona sees more direct calls on some Indian services. We quote both so you can compare total landed cost including inland haulage, and since customs clearance is identical at either port the choice rests purely on schedule and trucking rate.
