Industrial cooling and ventilation in Casablanca

Casablanca does the industrial work for the whole kingdom. Ain Sebaa and Sidi Bernoussi in the east carry textiles, food, chemicals and metalworking across estates that have been running for decades, Bouskoura and Nouaceur to the south hold the aeronautics cluster around the Midparc free zone together with automotive wiring and component plants, Mohammedia takes refining and petrochemicals up the coast, and Zenata is being built out as the newer logistics and light manufacturing quarter. The port itself moves phosphates, containers and general cargo alongside Jorf Lasfar further south. Buyers here should understand what the Atlantic does to a specification: this coast is humid enough that an evaporative cooler will never give the drop it gives in Marrakech or Ouarzazate. What these buildings genuinely need is volume air movement across production floors and dependable extraction in wiring, cutting and finishing halls where heat and fume accumulate.

Casablanca climate — the honest version

Casablanca faces the Atlantic, so summer highs settle at 26–30 °C with humidity of 65 to 80 percent carried in on the sea breeze, which keeps the city far milder than the Moroccan interior but also narrows the wet bulb depression, making air movement rather than deep cooling the sensible purchase.

Casablanca is reached from Nhava Sheva or Mundra in 18 to 24 days, and Ain Sebaa, Bouskoura and Nouaceur all lie within an hour of the quay, so inland haulage is a minor part of the landed cost.

Worth knowing locally

  • Morocco distributes 220 V single phase and 380 V three phase at 50 Hz, which is exactly what the motors are built for, so no rewind, transformer or frequency conversion is involved on arrival.
  • Electrical products require the CMIM mark against the relevant NM standards and imports pass an inspection regime at entry, so the conformity file is assembled with the shipping documents rather than after the vessel berths.
  • Atlantic salt and morning fog attack exposed steelwork in Ain Sebaa and Mohammedia, so casings, guards and fixings for coastal sites are supplied galvanised or powder coated as standard.

Supplying Casablanca — common questions

Ask on WhatsApp
Do the motors suit the Moroccan supply as built?

They do. Morocco runs 220 V and 380 V at 50 Hz, which matches the standard winding, so a unit shipped to Casablanca is connected exactly as it left the factory. Only the starter and control voltage need confirming when the order is placed. That removes the frequency question which complicates every shipment to the Americas.

Why is Casablanca not a strong evaporative market?

The Atlantic keeps it damp. Sea air holds 65 to 80 percent humidity through the warm months, so a cooler here returns a few degrees at best. Casablanca buys air movement instead, meaning large ceiling fans over assembly and packing floors and wall extractors on wiring, cutting and paint areas. Coolers belong at the group inland sites.

What does CMIM certification involve for an importer?

The mark is applied against the applicable NM standard, supported by the manufacturer declaration and the CE, IEC, LVD and EMC test reports shipped with every order, and consignments also meet an inspection regime at import. Most Casablanca buyers use a customs broker to handle the file, and preparing it before sailing avoids demurrage at the quay.
