No, and they should not be. A cleanroom depends on controlled laminar airflow, defined pressure cascades and filtered supply, and a large ceiling fan would disturb all three. HVLS fans belong in the warehouse, the machine shop, the packaging hall, the maintenance workshop and the loading bay, which are the unconditioned spaces surrounding the clean area and where staff actually feel the heat.
Is there any case for evaporative cooling on Penang island?
Practically none. With humidity sitting above 80 percent almost every day of the year, a pad cooler would deliver one or two degrees at best and would raise moisture in buildings already fighting condensation and corrosion. The honest specification for Penang is large diameter fans for air movement, exhaust fans for heat and fume removal, and duct fans where extract ducting already exists.
