Industrial cooling and ventilation in Almaty
Almaty stayed the commercial capital after government moved north, and its industry shows it. The Almaty Industrial Zone on the western edge carries beverage bottling, meat and dairy lines, packaging converters and label printers. The Alatau district holds the newer distribution sheds that serve buyers across Central Asia, Talgar and the settlements east of the city run construction materials, joinery and light assembly, and the Kapshagay corridor north along the reservoir keeps filling with logistics and fruit storage since the highway was rebuilt. Most of these buildings are 8 to 12 metre clear height steel portal sheds raised in the last twenty years, insulated for winter and vented by nothing more than ridge louvres. In July they hold their heat until midnight; in January the top four metres sit twenty degrees warmer than the floor while the gas burners keep firing. Both are air movement problems before they are cooling problems.
Almaty climate — the honest version
Almaty sits under the Trans-Ili Alatau in a sharply continental pattern, with July afternoons of 33–36 °C falling on humidity near 25 percent where evaporative cooling performs at its best, and January nights close to −20 °C when the same tall sheds trap all their heat under the roof.
Almaty is landlocked. The working route is Nhava Sheva to Bandar Abbas by sea in 7 to 9 days, then rail or road north through Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan · door to door 25 to 40 days · overland legs price per wagon or per truck rather than per container, so a full load is far cheaper per unit than a part load.

Worth knowing locally
- Supply across Kazakhstan is 380 V three phase 50 Hz, the same winding Ayzair motors are built to, so units run as delivered with no transformer and no rewind.
- Kazakhstan sits inside the Eurasian Economic Union, so clearance needs an EAC declaration against TR CU 004/2011 for low voltage equipment and TR CU 020/2011 for electromagnetic compatibility. The CE and IEC test file shipped with the goods is the technical evidence your Almaty broker uses to raise it.
- Order in February or March. With 10 to 20 working days of production and a 25 to 40 day overland run, anything started after April arrives once the July peak has already passed.

Ask on WhatsAppDoes evaporative cooling genuinely work in Almaty, or is it a Gulf product?
It works here. Almaty summer air sits around 25 percent relative humidity, which gives a wide wet bulb depression, and a ducted cooler will typically deliver supply air 9 to 12 °C below ambient through July and August. That is a real result in a bottling hall or a packing line, and it costs roughly two kilowatts against the tens of kilowatts chilled air would draw.
What use is an HVLS fan when the winter reaches −20 °C?
That is exactly when it earns its keep. In a 10 metre shed the heated air collects under the roof and the burners fire to satisfy a floor level thermostat that never sees it. Running a large fan slowly in reverse or at low forward speed pushes that layer back down, evens the column to within two or three degrees and usually cuts heating gas by 20 to 30 percent.
How does equipment actually reach a landlocked city like Almaty?
Goods sail from Nhava Sheva to Bandar Abbas, then travel by rail or road through Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan into southern Kazakhstan and up to Almaty. Allow 25 to 40 days door to door. Because the inland leg is charged per wagon or truck rather than per container, consolidating HVLS fans, coolers and exhaust fans into one despatch makes a large difference to landed cost.
