Industrial cooling and ventilation in Valparaíso
This coast is not Santiago, and specifying it as though it were produces disappointed customers. Cold ocean water keeps the port city damp and mild, so evaporative cooling on the waterfront would add moisture without delivering much of a drop. The work itself is varied. The port and its warehousing handle container and breakbulk traffic, fruit packhouses and cold chain facilities run flat out from December through March moving table grapes, cherries and avocados for export, the Ventanas complex at Puchuncaví carries copper refining and smelting with heavy extraction needs, and fishing and processing continues along the coast. Placilla holds newer logistics buildings above the port, while Quilpué and Villa Alemana carry general manufacturing in the warmer inland pocket. Ceiling fans, extraction over refining and processing heat, and in duct boosting for older buildings cover most of what is asked for.
Valparaíso climate — the honest version
The Humboldt current holds Valparaíso between 20 and 26 °C through summer with humidity often above 70 percent on the seafront, while Quilpué and Villa Alemana inland sit several degrees warmer and noticeably drier, so the coast and the valley need different equipment even though they are twenty minutes apart.
Valparaíso and San Antonio both take 35 to 45 days from Nhava Sheva with a transhipment on the way, and delivery from either quay into the Quilpué and Villa Alemana estates is under an hour by road · Santiago buyers frequently share a container with Valparaíso consignees to fill a 40 ft HQ.

Worth knowing locally
- The Valparaíso region is fed at 220 V and 380 V, 60 Hz. Since a 50 Hz winding is what our standard machine carries, every unit for this coast is produced to order with a 60 Hz motor at the voltage stated on the order.
- SEC approval is the governing requirement for electrical equipment in Chile, issued after testing at a laboratory authorised by the Superintendencia de Electricidad y Combustibles. We prepare the documentation package for the importer and treat the certification cost as a visible line in the quotation.
- Salt laden air on the waterfront attacks fixings and motor housings faster than most buyers expect. Specify the marine finish and stainless hardware for anything within sight of the water, and schedule a corrosion inspection twice a year rather than annually.

Cannot find what you need? Call +91 80871 10156 or WhatsApp us — an engineer, not a call centre, picks up.
Ask on WhatsAppWhy does Valparaíso need a different specification from Santiago?
Humidity. The Humboldt current keeps coastal air above 70 percent for much of the summer while Santiago drops to 25 percent, so an evaporative cooler that gives 13 °C in Pudahuel might return 3 or 4 °C at the port. Inland at Quilpué and Villa Alemana the picture improves somewhat. We quote by actual site rather than by region for exactly this reason.
What suits a fruit packhouse during the export season?
Large ceiling fans over the grading and packing floor, which keep air moving across people working long shifts without drying or chilling the fruit, plus extraction where sorting lines, shrink tunnels or forklift traffic add heat. Cold rooms stay on their own refrigeration. The aim is a comfortable packing hall feeding the cold chain, not cooling the product with air movement.
Can you supply extraction for the Ventanas refining operations?
We supply the fan equipment rather than the process ventilation design. The Hammer range covers 200 mm to 1750 mm in configurations suited to high temperature and corrosive duties, and we provide airflow, static pressure and material options so your engineering contractor can integrate them. For smelting and refining atmospheres, specify the corrosion protection grade at enquiry stage.
