Industrial cooling and ventilation in Warsaw

Warsaw anchors the largest warehouse market in Poland and almost all of it is high bay. The A2 corridor west of the city carries the Błonie, Ożarów Mazowiecki, Pruszków and Sochaczew parks where e-commerce fulfilment operators run pick faces around the clock, Nadarzyn and Janki to the south hold pharmaceutical distribution and cold chain support, and Piaseczno and Żerań keep printing houses, light assembly and food plants. Roofs at 10 to 12 metres are standard and gas or district heating runs for six months. The complaint a Polish facility manager actually raises is never that the shed is hot. It is that the thermostat at 1.5 metres reads 17 °C while a thermal camera finds 27 °C at the ridge, and the burners keep firing to close a gap that mixing would close for free. Slow HVLS fans return that layer to the floor and extract fans deal with forklift fumes and summer peaks.

Warsaw climate — the honest version

Warsaw runs a continental year in which January averages around -3 °C with long frosts and a heating season stretching from October into April, while July brings only a short run of days near 30 °C, so heat loss into the roof matters far more than cooling ever will.

Containers sail from Nhava Sheva to Gdańsk or Gdynia in roughly 25 to 32 days, then travel south by road or rail on the S7 corridor and reach the Warsaw parks the following day · EXW · FOB · CIF quoted.

Worth knowing locally

  • Polish industrial supply is 400 V three phase 50 Hz, identical to the build standard for Ayzair motors, so nothing is rewound or stepped down on site.
  • Poland is in the EU, so equipment enters under CE marking with the declaration of conformity issued against the Machinery Directive and the LVD and EMC directives, and no separate national approval applies.
  • Fulfilment operators in Błonie and Nadarzyn run mezzanines and high racking, so fan diameter is set from the clear height above the top beam rather than from the building ridge.

Ask on WhatsApp
How much heating energy does destratification actually save in a Warsaw warehouse?

In a heated hall of 10 to 12 metres, measured savings usually land between 20 and 30 percent of heating energy. The saving comes from removing the temperature gradient, so the burners satisfy the floor thermostat without first overheating the roof void. Over a Mazovian heating season of roughly six months, that recovers the fan cost in one or two winters.

Would an evaporative air cooler make sense in a Warsaw distribution centre?

Honestly, no. Warsaw has perhaps two or three genuinely hot weeks and summer air here carries enough moisture to blunt evaporative performance when it matters most. The sensible summer answer is air movement from the same fans bought for winter, plus roof or wall extraction to clear accumulated heat overnight. We would not quote ducted coolers for this market.

Do the fans come with EU paperwork our safety officer will accept?

Yes. Each unit ships with a CE declaration of conformity referencing the Machinery Directive, LVD and EMC, together with IEC test reports, wiring diagrams, IP55 motor data and installation and maintenance manuals in English. Polish importers normally add their own translated user instructions for operators, and we support that by supplying the source documents in editable form on request.
